I am so excited right now. I decided a few weeks back that it was time to begin collecting the back-issues of Superman (mostly prior to the Byrne reboot, but if I like the scenes with Lois in them I also have been collecting a few Modern age.) I only had time to flip through them considering how many my comic book shop has for only a quarter ($.25 for people not sure of what that is) but if I thought I might like it or I already had one comic in that overall story (if they went more than one comic) then I added it to my buy stack. When I got home I began reading/skimming (depending on whether it was a one-off or a larger story) and I my eyes lit up as I realized what one of them contained. It turned out that the Superman #329 had a mini-story of the Earth-2 Lois and Clark/Superman. For those that don't know, that's the one where Lois and Clark are married and Clark works at the Daily Star. I also found a few pages of clois (some Lois/Clark and some Lois/Superman) here and there but I have to say that right now the Earth-2 Lois and Clark are my gold mine (the generic Lois and Clark/Superman is my silver mine so anything that had Lois featured fairly prominently gets pulled.) I will be scanning those pictures so that
clois_scans can have them for posterity but I thought I would do a little squeeing over here first.
I haven't even finished going through all of the comics I bought today. I have about $6 worth of comics still to go through to see whether or not they'll need to be scanned/added to the clois comics page but I just couldn't stop myself from sharing this info.

I have to remind myself that for the longest time Lois and Clark were DC's ultimate pairing as well (even with characters like Lola, Lana and Maxima they always kept going back to Lois and Clark/Superman.)
And OMG, what? Twenty-five cents for a comic! Even here they charge us at least $2 for old copies. Jealous.
Looking forward to seeing them on
I suspect it has something to do with the fact that Sparta, IL used to have a comic book printing facility (which coincidentally, my great-uncle used to work at so that's where we used to get our comics way back when) that's only about an hour and a half away. When I talked to the guy that owned the comic book shop he was rather surprised to find out I had a connection to that facility (apparently someone from across the river used to drive up there to get his comics because they were cheaper straight from the press.) I found at least one of the comics we used to have as a kid (although it's getting torn down the middle so it may be one of those that goes into a sleeve even though it's from the 87s and not all that valuable.)
Considering they might never have been printed/sold over that way (depending on the age they may not have been shipping them overseas and thus, rarer) it's not extremely surprising that the comics where you're at would be at least $2 as it might well be something of an export.
